As we celebrate the Fifteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time, Jesus invites us to reflect on the condition of our hearts through the Parable of the Sower. Just as a farmer generously scatters seed, God continually sows His Word into our lives, inviting us to receive it with openness, nurture it with faith, and allow it to bear fruit in abundance.
The seed itself is always good. The question is whether our hearts are ready to receive it. Amid the busyness of daily life, the worries we carry, and the distractions that surround us, Christ gently calls us to become "good soil" - hearts rooted in prayer, nourished by the Eucharist, and open to His transforming grace. When we allow God's Word to take root within us, it not only changes our own lives but also becomes a blessing to everyone around us.
This week, our parish family continues to grow as we welcome Archbishop Launay Saturne of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Cap-Haïtien, Haiti, for the 2026 Annual Mission Appeal. We thank him for sharing the mission of the Church in Haiti and invite everyone to keep his ministry and the people of Haiti in your prayers.
There are also many opportunities to allow the seeds of faith to flourish within our community. We look forward to welcoming young adults to our very first Young Adults Ministry Get-Together, preparing our children and youth for their pilgrimage to Martyrs' Shrine, and gathering together later this summer for our Parish Picnic. We also encourage every parishioner to complete our Parish Census as we continue building a stronger, more connected parish family.
As you read through this week's bulletin, may you ask yourself:
What kind of soil am I offering Christ today?
May His Word find a home within us, deepen our faith, and inspire us to bear lasting fruit through lives of love, service, and joyful discipleship. May God continue to bless you and your family with hearts that are open to His Word and lives that reflect His abundant love.
