On Saturday, June 6, St. Andrew's Parish was blessed to host a beautiful and faith-filled celebration of the Feast of the Uganda Martyrs. Parishioners, guests, visiting clergy, and members of the Ugandan Catholic Community gathered together to honour the courageous witness of St. Charles Lwanga and his companions, whose unwavering faith in Christ continues to inspire Catholics throughout the world.

The celebration began with a vibrant and prayerful Mass that reflected the rich faith, culture, and traditions of the Ugandan community. Through joyful singing, heartfelt prayer, and a spirit of thanksgiving, those gathered were reminded of the extraordinary courage shown by the young martyrs who chose fidelity to Christ even in the face of persecution and death.

The Uganda Martyrs remain a powerful example of steadfast faith, reminding us that holiness is possible in every age and circumstance. Their witness challenges each of us to live our faith with courage, integrity, and trust in God's providence.

Following the Mass, parishioners and guests came together in fellowship, celebrating not only the legacy of the martyrs but also the diversity and unity that enriches our parish family. The gathering was filled with joy, friendship, and gratitude as members of the community shared in this special occasion.

We extend our sincere thanks to everyone who helped make this celebration possible, including our clergy, organizers, volunteers, choir members, liturgical ministers, and all those who worked tirelessly behind the scenes. We are especially grateful to the Ugandan Catholic Community whose faith, dedication, and commitment continue to be a tremendous blessing to St. Andrew's Parish.

As we reflect on this year's celebration, may the example of St. Charles Lwanga and his companions continue to inspire us to follow Christ with courage, perseverance, and joy. Through their intercession, may our parish family grow ever deeper in faith and remain steadfast in witnessing to the Gospel in our daily lives.
