If you have been to St. Andrew’s recently, you may have noticed that our parking lot looks a little different! Semple Gooder Roofing Corporation, the contractor for our roof project, has officially mobilized on site, and work is now underway.

As part of the project, several sections of the parking lot have been temporarily designated as construction areas. You will see safety fencing, equipment, storage containers and other materials on site as the roofing team carries out their work. While this means that some of our usual parking spaces will be temporarily unavailable, these changes are an exciting sign of the important improvements taking place at our parish.

The project includes significant work to several sections of the church roof, including roof areas, drains and associated components. This is an important investment in protecting and maintaining our church building so that St. Andrew’s can continue to be a safe and welcoming spiritual home for our parish community for many years to come.

A Little Patience for a Lot of Progress!

Throughout construction, we kindly ask everyone to follow all posted signs, fencing and safety barriers, and to please avoid entering any areas designated for construction. With portions of the parking lot being used by the contractor, we also encourage everyone to allow a little extra time when arriving for Mass or parish activities and to be patient and considerate when finding parking. And while construction sites may not always look very exciting with fences, bins, equipment and materials taking over part of our parking lot but behind those barriers, something important is happening! Every stage of this work is helping us care for the church that has been the setting for countless Masses, Sacraments, celebrations, prayers and memories.

This project is also a wonderful reminder of what can happen when a parish community comes together. From our recent fundraisers to the many parishioners who continue to generously support our Building Fund, every contribution helps us care for the place we all call our parish home.

So when you see the orange fencing and construction equipment, know that it means progress! We are excited to watch the work continue and look forward to sharing updates with you along the way.

Thank you to all our parishioners and neighbours for your patience, understanding and continued support during construction. Together, we are not simply repairing a roof, we are caring for our parish home and helping preserve St. Andrew’s for generations to come.
